- CANT RUN PHD AND STELLARIUM TELESCOPE CONTROL SAME TIME WINDOWS
If this works you can now try the real thing. All being well the telescopeserverdummy cursor will arrive at your selected object after a short delay. If Stellarium is now started and run, an object on the screen can be selected (left click). If this works correctly a command window will open saying it is listening on port 10001 This needs to be done at command line level or on a batch file Now we must initiate the telescopeserverdummy.exe with the necessary variables:. This will look for the dummy at port 10001 The config.ini needs to have this line added to Ģ = My_dummy_telescope:TCP:localhost:10001:500000 Now, before you try to connect to the telescope set up the dummyserver, telescopeserverdummy.exe This will let you see that you have the right syntax for a command. Note:If the adaptor is used as an accessory you may need to initiate a suitable com port from the control panel These usually allocate com port 5 an 6 to the first available comports and won't find com 1,2,3 or 4. If you have a laptop with no com ports you will need a USB to COM adaptor. Make sure the telescope is in fact connected to the nominated com port. Generally COM1: or COM2: are already set up on the computer so one or the other is normally used. The next bit of information is what COM port is going to be used. Numbers from 10000 upwards depending on the number of telescopes have been arbitratedly selected as being not known to be used elsewhere but any number could be used. Just about any number can be used here between 6 (if it has not been allocated already). This infornmation is firstly a computer port to talk to the telescope through. Now if the telescopeserverLX200.exe program is executed barefoot nothing will happen except a quick flash of the command screen because it needs more information. This information round trip requires a finite amount of time and there is a preprogrammed delay to take care of this (the 500000 as the last entry in the request) The Autostar 494 because of its special interface takes a bit longer for the round trip so a value of 1200000 needs to be used here to improve the reliability. The telescopeserverLX200.EXE sends a continuous stream of requests to the Autostar using the standard Meade protocol, common to all Meade products, even the older Magellan system, Autostar replies with the required information. Johannes and I spent quite some time about a year ago fine tuning the telescopederverLX200.exe so it would work with the Autostar 494 which is the slowest of the autostars because of its unusual interface. I am determined to get Stellarium to drive my scope!!!HelpĬonfig.ini(in documents and settings/user/stellarium)ġ = My_first_telescope:TCP:localhost:10000:500000 Are we missing something? Can you provide us with the files? What version are you using.? If you can get the ETX to work then the LX90 should cooperate. I do not see any line activity on my line monitor. I have set up the bat files on the desktop and like Bryan I see a dos window flash then nothing. Using Stellarium 8.2 it locks up loading the new config.ini file. Trying Stellarium 8.1 first and following the instructions no luck.

When the issue was raised again here I convinced myself that if Barry can do it so can we! I now have a LX90LNT and "the sky" and autostar updates works fine.I am using Windows XPsp2.
CANT RUN PHD AND STELLARIUM TELESCOPE CONTROL SAME TIME SERIAL
First of all I can drive the scope using "the Sky" V5 lvl 2 and I can see the laptop talking to the Autostar (COM1)through a serial port monitor.I can also load Autostar updates through the Com1 port.I tried unsuccesfully to drive an LXD55 using Stellarium some time ago and gave up. I am in a similar position trying to get the telescope control to work with Autostar.
